The Institute of Fundraising (IoF) has announced it will be working in partnership with Saffery Champness to deliver a free tax and gift aid advice helpline for the Institute’s organisational members.
The helpline is being launched to assist charities in navigating through the increasingly complex and ever-changing information surrounding VAT, gift aid and tax rules in relation to fundraising activities.
Peter Lewis, CEO of IoF said: “We are thrilled to be working with such an expert company in the area of tax and VAT advice. Charities are becoming ever more squeezed and this helpline will assist organisations in understanding complexities in legislation and overcoming barriers to fundraising so that they can continue to raise money for good causes.”
Russell Moore, charity VAT Partner at Saffery Champness, added: “We are pleased to be working with the IoF to provide this specialist service to its members. Our team of charity experts aims to provide a fast service to provide practical advice on how to mitigate the VAT and Tax cost of fundraising activities.”
The Institute is planning a launch workshop event in May 2012 for all those interested in finding out more.
Details and dates will be released on the Institutes website in due time.
